Artist and designer Jonah Takagi says he founded his Washington, D.C.-based multidisciplinary atelier as an outlet for his overactive imagination——happily, the products of this prodigious imagination, largely furniture and lighting, have been extremely well-received to date. After graduating from the Rhode Island School of Design, Takagi toured with several indie bands playing bass guitar before turning his attention to design full-time. Born in Japan and raised in New England, Takagi’s work draws from a wide range of influences. His designs have been displayed around the world: he has shown at IMM Cologne, in Japan, and in Milan at the Salone Satellite at the Milan Furniture Fair.
